A view of the garden looking away from the house towards the car park - up to three cars may be parked, depending upon size.

St Ives Cottage Holidays - A view away from Porth Enys of the garden and car parking area. There is space for up to 3 cars. To give you a guide, a Vectra, Astra, and Corsa can be accommodated in the space available.

Porth Enys is an early Victorian Grade II Listed terraced house. It is about 150 years old, and the front walls are of cut and dressed granite blocks. The house has been modernised, but still retains much of it's original character, and it has a warm and friendly feel which seems to be appreciated by our visitors - see their comments.

The front door of the house opens onto a raised terrace above the main road down into the town and is only about 200-250 yards from the town centre, but is far enough away not to be troubled by the hussle and bussle. The walk into the town is downhill. Coming back there is a short climb, but no serious hill-climbing is needed.

The accommodation at Porth Enys consists of :-

A large lounge with comfortable seating for up to ten persons - a 3 seater settee, a five seater settee, and two swivelling arm chairs. There is a teletext tv, a vcr, dvd player, Freeview, hi-fi system, and various books, games and some videos. There is also a small casual dining table.

A separate dining room for more formal meals.

The kitchen was refitted a little time ago and is well equipped with an electric oven/hob with extractor, an automatic washer/dryer, a fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, etc. There is plenty of cupboard space and work surface.

There are a total of five bedrooms. There are two double bedded rooms and one single at the front of the house whilst at the rear is a twin bedded room, and a children's room with two bunk beds(both at floor level for safety).  The main bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, the fifth children's room having only a small chest of drawers. Most bedrooms have a tv with Freeview, and one has a vcr and dvd player.

There is a full bathroom with w.c., shower, bath, etc., and a further separate w.c.

All the accommodation is carpeted except for the kitchen and the bathroom, and there is central heating throughout.

Outside, there is parking for up to three cars, a small sloping and south facing garden, and a small sheltered courtyard which, in high summer, is sunny for the main part of the day. There is also a patio table and chairs.

St Ives Cottage Holidays - Palms - This photo was taken in 2007, some time after the one above. The palms have grown and a proper border has been created using railway sleepers, which have also been used to make a the bench seat against the wall.
