Holiday Cottage St Ives - Porth EnysSt Ives Cottage Holidays - The rear entrance to Porth Enys - Enjoy views over the whole of St Ives Bay from the car parking area behind Porth Enys Holiday Cottage

Porth Enys self-catering holiday cottage, St Ives, Cornwall, is a Grade II listed, early Victorian, terraced family house. The cottage has been modernised but retains many original features, is full of character, and has a light, airy, and very friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy your self-catering holiday. There is also on-site parking for up to three cars.

The cottage  is situated on the main road down into St. Ives but is set above the road on a raised pedestrian terrace. Access to the town takes literally just a few seconds, and does not involve any serious hill climbing.

There is a small, and in high summer sunny, patio/courtyard with table and chairs, and a small south facing and sloping garden. Behind this is the car parking area  from which views over the roof of the cottage may be had of most of St Ives Bay.

Porth Enys is our own holiday home, and we have tried to make it a warm and friendly place to stay. It is well equipped with entertainment for cosy evenings in, or those doubtful days we all hope to avoid, and it is our aim to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Many of our visitors return year after year - see their comments  - and we hope you too will enjoy your stay and become one of our regular visitors.

St. Ives' railway station is only a short walk away. Likewise, all bus services are close at hand. Since the town centre is so close, all facilities, banks, churches(one is almost immediately opposite), the post office, doctors, shops, etc., are very convenient to your holiday cottage. The Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum are only a little further away, and all St. Ives marvellous beaches are within easy walking distance. Porthminster family beach is the closest, being just below the railway station, whilst Porthmeor surfing beach is but a short walk across the town. The harbour, with it's many colourful boats and constant activity, is also close to hand.

Views of the whole of St. Ives Bay, and elevated views over the whole of the harbour, can also be had by walking 50 yards to the Malakoff. This is a great spot to watch any of the firework displays held in the harbour. St Ives'  leisure suite and swimming pool are a ten minute walk away.

St. Ives boasts a number of excellent restaurants, many specialising in locally caught fish. The local pubs are full of character and are sure to provide a warm welcome. There are a wide variety of gift shops and picture galleries, whilst surfers have a number of shops catering for all their needs. Please see the links page for other sites of interest.

St. Ives has an exceptionally clear light - much appreciated by artists - and has won many awards both as a holiday destination and for it's summer flower displays. Come and see for yourself - you won't be disappointed.

Buy the local Times and Echo to see "what's on" in and around St Ives during your stay. In particular to see what "Kidz R Us" performances are upcoming - support the Kidz in their own theatre, a former chapel, on The Stennack.

There are plenty of good local pubs and restaurants to enjoy, and all tastes from high class cuisine to the simple Cornish pasty are well catered for, and children are normally quite welcome in most places.

Don't forget, St Ives is a great base from which to explore Cornwall, with much of the county being within an hours drive.
